COMEDK Post Graduate Entrance Test-2011 (COMEDK PGET-2011)

About PGET

The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admission to the member institutions, have formed “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” (COMEDK).

COMEDK has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test for the academic year 2011-2012, for Indian national candidates aspiring to pursue Post Graduate Courses in Medicine and Dentistry in the state of Karnataka, in Member Institutions of the Consortium (Medical and Dental Colleges).

COMEDK entrance test & publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralized counseling (Single window). The details will be published in due course on the website.

The list of the Member Institutions who have indicated their participation in the COMEDK testing program, along with the courses offered by them, is published as part of a brochure, on website.
 
COMEDK will conduct a separate entrance test for Medical and a separate entrance test for Dental Post Graduate courses called 'COMEDK 
PGET-2011', for candidates seeking admission to Post Graduate courses in Medical and Dental studies. The entrance test is being conducted for use by COMEDK Member Institutions only. The COMEDK entrance test is mandatory for candidates seeking admissions for the Post Graduate courses in COMEDK Member Institutions. The COMEDK PGET-2011 test scores are valid only for admissions during the academic year 2011-2012.

The COMEDK PGET-2011 will be conducted only at centers in Bangalore on Sunday the 13th February 2011

TEST PATTERN                                                                                                  There will be one test for PG Medical and one test for PG Dental Courses. Each test will have 180 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ). The time allotted for the test would be 180 minutes. The test will begin at 10:00 AM and end at 1:00 PM
Candidates are required to mark their answers in an OMR (Optical Mark Reader) Answer Sheet.
Each correct answer is awarded one mark.
There will be no negative marking.
However, in the event of a tie in score the principle of least negative responses (number of wrong answer) will be adopted. In addition, if required, other methods may be adapted to break ties.
No mark/s will be awarded for multiple marking (marking multiple responses) of any question.

Enclosures to be sent along with the filled in application form

Send the Application and enclosures in A4 size envelope only. Do not fold the application form.
Kindly arrange the documents in the following order:
Mandatory Documents:
1. DD for Rs.1500/- drawn in favour of COMEDK payable at Bangalore (mention your application number & applicant name behind the DD)
2. Additional colour photograph (mention your application number & applicant’s name behind the photograph) COMEDK Application form.
3. Printed online COMEDK copy of Date of Birth Certificate / Identity Proof in the prescribed form duly attested by the head of the institution where he/she has studied last or Gazetted officer not below the rank of Tahsildar of the area in which the candidate is a resident
4. Photocopies of all marks cards including that of failed year if any(First Year to Final Year university marks card/s)
5. Photocopy of Attempt Certificate
6. Photocopy of Internship Completion Certificate / Internship Completed Certificate.
7. Photocopy of Degree Certificate / Provisional Degree Certificate,
8. Photocopy of Registration Certificate.
Optional Documents:
Candidates belonging to SC / ST of All India and OBC of Karnataka would be considered, provided they furnish the Photocopy of the following Certificates:
a. SC / ST : Caste Certificate issued by competent authority (Authorised to issue such a certificate but not below the rank of a Tahsildar)
b. OBC : Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB: As notified by the Karnataka Govt. Caste and Income Certificate issued by Tahsildar or higher revenue jurisdicational authority authorised to issue such a certificate.
c. Minority : Religious(christian) of All India/Linguistic(Tulu/Telugu) of Karnataka minority candidates to produce certificate as per Appendix-IV of Brochure.
Note: Avoid stapling of Demand Draft and additional photograph to the application form instead use clips.
Any application received by COMEDK without the required enclosures will be liable for rejection.
