University of Southampton's School of Social Sciences is inviting applications for its Economics postgraduate and undergraduate degree programmes for the October 2011 entry. These programmes are designed for those who want to become specialist economists and pursue a career in which economics is an essential input.
Under economics the school offers three postgraduate programmes - MSc Economics that provides advanced training in economic analysis and offers a wide range of optional subjects, MSc Economics and Econometrics that is designed for students with a particular interest in the more quantitative aspects of the subject and is one of the few courses in the UK to offer specialist training in advanced econometric techniques and their application and MSc Finance and Economics that is designed to equip students with the specialist skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career at a high level within the financial sector.
Within the undergraduate degree programmes, the university offers Economics and Management Sciences, Economics and Finance; Economics and Actuarial Science; Politics and Economics; Economics and Philosophy, and Mathematics with Economics and Master in Economics.
