Applications have been invited for admission to the three-and-a-half-year long fulltime general nursing diploma course offered at 14 government nursing schools and a nursing school for SC/ ST at Ashram (Kollam) in the State.
The course will commence from October 2011. Those who have passed Plus Two/ equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and biology and secured a minimum of 40 per cent marks are eligible to apply; 20 per cent seats are earmarked for boys. Both girls and boys can apply.
Total seats available for this course in 14 districts are 365. Upper age-limit for admission to the general category is 27 years. Application form and prospectus can be collected from the district-level Government Nursing Schools on payment of Rs.200.
Last date for receipt of completed applications is August 12. There will be no tuition fee in the Government Nursing Schools. Moreover, the students will get monthly stipend during their study.
