Admission Procedure:

The procedure for seeking admission to the courses in SCSVMV 2011 University consists of:
Submission of admission applications to the University, and
Attending the counseling for the said course at the notified date, time and place.(Additionally, Entrance exam would be held in the case of MBA)

Selection Procedure :

Ranking of Candidates

Selection of Candidates for admission to all the Degree courses will be based on the Merit lists prepared by SCSVMV 2011 University, based on the marks arrived at by adopting the method of normalization. Ranking of the candidates will be done based on the normalised marks (rounded-off to three decimal places) arrived at, to a base of 100.

For B.E. Degree Course

Admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed subjects, in the qualifying examination [i.e. for HSC Academic: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and normalizing them by the prescribed procedure.

Equal weightage will be given to all the three prescribed subjects. Wherever separate marks for practicals are awarded, the same will be considered along with the respective subjects, for arriving at the total actual marks and hence the ‘normalized marks’.

For Candidates Applying for Admission to B.E. Degree course through AIEEE 2011

Admission for Candidates applying to B.E Degree course through AIEEE 2011, will be based on the actual merit marks secured by them in AIEEE 2011 (All India Engineering Entrance Examination), and a separate merit list prepared for them. For such Candidates, the normalization procedure is not applicable.

Display of Merit List

The Merit Lists will be displayed on the notice board of the Office of Admissions, SCSVMV University, and the same will also be made available in the official website www.kanchiuniv.ac.in No separate announcement will be made in the newspapers.

Counselling for Admission

Counselling for all the above degree courses will be conducted at SCSVMV University, Enathur, Kanchipuram. Candidates must be accompanied by the parents to the counseling session.

Date and Time

Candidates will be called for counseling as per their order of merit is each course. Candidates to be called for counseling will be intimated through call letters and in the official web site of SCSVMV University. No change of date / time of counseling is permissible. SCSVMV University will not be responsible for postal delay, if any, and non-delivery of counseling/intimation letters whatever be the reason (s) thereto.

Candidates who do not attend the counseling on the specified date and time, have to forego their claim for admission. However, due to unforeseen circumstances and unavoidable reasons, if a candidate is unable to attend the counseling on the specified date and time, he / she can attend on a subsequent date and time during the counseling period for the course, with prior permission of “The Chairman, Admissions 2011, SCSVMV University”. But, the candidate can only opt for the seat available at that time and cannot claim any seat as per his / her original rank,for the course. In any case, counseling will not be done in the absence of candidates.

Unfilled seats and vacancies, arising out of the dropouts of already admitted candidates, or due to the introduction of new courses, will be filled - up during the subsequent Counselings. Details of such vacancies will be notified in the official web site of SCSVMV University and such information will also be updated periodically. Individual intimation will not be sent to candidates for Counseling of seats arising due to vacancies, for the reasons mentioned above. These vacancies “shall be open” to all candidates applied for admission through SCSVMV University, including the candidates already admitted during earlier counseling.

No communication shall be sent to candidates who are not eligible to be called for counseling and no further correspondence in this regard, will also be entertained.

Verification of Original Certificates

Candidates called for counseling shall be required to submit all the documents in original for verification at the time of counseling. Candidates, who fail to produce the required documents in original, shall not be counseled.

Admission

Admission to all courses is based on the merit, category of the candidates, and the availability of seats at the time of counseling.

At any time, if the SCSVMV University authorities find that admission has been offered based on false/ incorrect information/ documents and suppression of relevant facts, education qualification, the admission offered or the admission already completed shall be cancelled, irrespective of the stage of study of that course. Further, legal proceedings will also be initiated against such candidates for such action /(s). Hence, Candidates are warned against indulging in such action/ (s), in their own interest. All parents are also requested to make note of the above provision, and take due care and diligence, in all matters concerning admission to the various professional courses

Admission to sports persons

Ten seats were reserved exclusively for sports persons who created a niche for themselves at various levels.A full waiver of tuition fee will be considered depending on the sport merit of the candidate and the level of competition in which he secured certificate of merit.

Filled up applications shall be sent to the following address along with the application cost in the form of DD from any Nationalized Bank, In favour of “ The Registrar, SCSVMV University”, Payable at Kanchipuram.

B.E / B.Tech - Rs. 500/- for SC/ST Rs. 250/-



Eligibility:
A pass in +2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
Desirable score in the entrance exam of SCSVMV / AIEEE 2011

Lateral Entry

Any B.Sc Degree with an aggregate of 60% marks with Mathematics as one of the subject or A pass in Diploma in Engineering in the respective subject or equivalent.
