Kerala Council for Historical Research (KCHR)-Fellowships, Internships, and other programmes for 2011-12

The Kerala Council for Historical Research (KCHR) has invited applications for different kinds of fellowships, internships, and other programmes for 2011-12. These are: 

Scholar-in-Residence Fellowship: A three-month short-term residence fellowships to scholars to work on articles or monographs or for completing scholarly work in progress. The scholars will be provided residence facility and financial support (honorarium) of Rs.1,00,000. The fellowships are open to established scholars cutting across disciplinary boundaries and nationalities, says a communication from the KCHR. Applications can be submitted any time during the academic year.

Fellowships to streamline Ph.D. thesis: Supports scholars to revise their Ph.D. thesis for publication. The grant under this scheme will be up to Rs.50,000. The last date for submitting applications is December 20.
Fellowships to design post-doctoral research theme: This fellowship is meant to support Ph.D. degree holders to pursue their research by helping them formulate an area or theme for post-doctoral research. Scholars who have undertaken social science research at the Ph.D. level on any aspects of Kerala society/history or social science theory may apply. The grant under this scheme will be up to Rs.50,000.

Ph.D. fellowships: KCHR doctoral fellowships are open to research scholars to pursue Ph.D. programmes in any of the Indian universities or at the KCHR on themes related to Kerala society and history or social science theories. The fellowship grant will be Rs.10,000 a month with a contingency grant of Rs.25,000 a year. Full-time researchers who have already enrolled themselves or qualified as per UGC norms to register for Ph.D. programmes can apply. The last date for submitting applications is December 20.

Internship: The KCHR offers internships to graduate, postgraduate, and M.Phil. students from any part of the world interested in undertaking short-term assignments in social science disciplines. The minimum fee for an individual Indian national will be Rs.2,000 and for a foreigner, $300.
