Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (Kerala)-Admission to integrated five-year L.L.B. course

The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations has invited applications for an entrance examination to be held on July 31 at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Kozhikode for admission to the integrated five-year L.L.B. course offered in government law colleges in the State. This is a double degree integrated course combining Bachelor's degree course as designed by the university concerned in any discipline of study together with the Bachelor's degree course in law as designed by the Bar Council of India. The government law colleges in the State are functioning at Thiruvananthapuram (Barton Hill), Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Kozhikode. Each college has 80 seats.

The total seats available for the five-year LLB course in these four colleges is 320.

Eligibility: Applicant should be an Indian Citizen and should have passed the Plus Two examination in any group/ subject combination with at least 45 per cent marks.

Applicants should have completed 17 years as on December 31, 2011. There is no upper age-limit.

How to apply

Apply online through the web site www.cee-kerala.org. There will be separate links for general, SEBC and SC/ ST categories of applicants. Online registration facilities will be provided up to July 18. The application fee is Rs.600 (Rs. 300/- for SC/ ST applicants) and the fee can be remitted at any branch of SBT by way of a bank chalan. The original chalan duly signed by the bank authorities should be attached with the print-out of the application form. Applicants from outside Kerala can remit the application fee by attaching a demand draft for the requisite amount drawn on a nationalised bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

A passport size photograph should be affixed in the print-out of the application and it should be attested by the candidate.

The application along with all the necessary documents should be sent to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695001 by registered post so as to reach the addressee on or before July 18.

Those registered for this entrance examination can download their admit card from the web site www.cee-kerala.org from July 24 onwards. Applicants must follow the guidelines given in the prospectus before submitting their applications. The entrance examination shall be of three hours duration and will consist of 200 objective-type questions in general knowledge (65 questions), English (65) and aptitude for legal studies (70). The candidate have to mark their responses in the OMR answer sheet. For each correct response, the candidate will be awarded three marks and for each incorrect response, one mark will be deducted from the total score. To qualify in the rank-list, applicant should get a minimum of 25 per cent of the total marks (20% for SC/ ST candidates) in the entrance examination.

Options can be registered online through the web site www.cee-kerala.org within the stipulated period of time. Seat allotment process will be done through a single-window system.

Reservation of seats

Sixty four per cent of the seats will be filled through merit and 26 per cent seats are reserved for SEBC and 10 per cent for SC/ ST candidates. One seat each in the four law colleges will be reserved for the children of ex-servicemen / visually-challenged candidates and candidates under sports quota. One seat in Government Law College, Ernakulam, is reserved for a candidate from Lakshadweep. Web site: www.cee-kerala.org.
