Joint Entrance Test-Agri Business Management (JET-ABM)2011

The three national institutions under the Ministry of Agriculture will conduct a Joint Entrance Test-Agri Business Management (JET-ABM) on Sunday, March 27,2011 for selection of candidates to their respective Post-Graduate Programmes in Agri Business Management recognized by AICTE.

(i) National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad – 500 030 – PGDM(ABM)

(ii) Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CCS-NIAM), Bambala, Kota Road, Jaipur- 302 033 – PGDM(ABM)

(iii) National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500 407-PGDMA

Candidates will be short-listed for further steps in selection process based on the JET-ABM. Detailed criteria for various parameters in the selection process will be published on respective institutions’ websites and brochures. Short-list of selected candidates to be called for group discussion, personal interview, presentation, paper writing etc., will be displayed on respective websites of three institutions.

Registration

The application form can be filled online at www.jetabm.gov.in. Alternatively application form for JET-ABM may be downloaded from the websites of respective institutions i.e., http://www.manage.gov.in, http://www.ccsniam.gov.in, http://www.naarm.ernet.in.

The application form and detailed instructions may also be obtained by post by sending a request along with an Indian Postal Order / Demand Draft of Rs.100/- to any of the three institutions. The envelope seeking requests for hard copies of applications must be marked “Application for JET-ABM, 2011″.

The filled in application form along with a demand draft for Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST candidates), drawn in favour of JET-ABM, payable at Hyderabad may be sent at:

Hyderabad-500 030.

Test will be conducted throughout the country at various centres.
Reservation

The reservation of seats will be available for OBC, SC, ST and Physically Handicapped categories as per Govt, of India rules.

Date of start of JET-ABM: 01-Jan-2011
Last date for submission of JET-ABM: 14-Feb-2011
JET-ABM Examination: 27-March-2011
JET-ABM Results: 2nd or 3rd week of April, 2011
Group discussions & Personal Interview: 3nd or 4rd week of April, 2011
Final Results: 31-May-2011
Course Commencement: July, 2011

JET ABM Exam Pattern

The JET-ABM would include the questions in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of Agriculture will have 40 questions covering the following areas;
General Agriculture
Agricultural Engineering
Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
Fisheries
Food Sciences
Forestry
Horticulture

2. Quantitative Aptitude will have 40 questions covering the subjects like statistics and data interpretation

3. Logical Ability will have 40 questions covering the subjects like reasoning, extrapolation, deduction etc.
4. Proficiency in English will have 40 questions covering the subjects like reading comprehension, paraphrasing, sentence correction / completion, synonyms and antonyms etc.

5. General Awareness will have 20 questions from the areas of current affairs, general knowledge and elementary aspects of agri-business.

Examination Date of JET-ABM, 2011: 27-March-2011


Duration of JET-ABM, 2011 will be of 2 hours with a total of 180 questions.


The right answer will be given one mark and wrong answer will be awarded -1/3 mark.
