Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is giving an opportunity for the graduates for joining of various jobs in different Ministries and Departments, Government of India.The Examination will comprise of two Tiers of Written Objective Type examination followed by Computer Proficiency Test/ Interview/Skill test, wherever applicable as per the Scheme of Examination.Staff Selection Commission will hold Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I) Examination, 2012 on SUNDAYS the 1st July, 2012 & 8th July,2012 and if necessary, on subsequent Saturdays/Sundays, in different batches, for selecting the candidates for Tier-II examination. The Combined Graduate Level (Tier-II) Examination-2012 is likely to be held on 15/09/2012 and 16/09/2012. Further details are as follows-
- Inspectors of Income Tax / Inspector (Central Excise) / Inspector (Preventive Officer) / Inspector (Examiner) in Custom Houses (Group B Non-Gazetted) in the pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4600/-
- Assistants (CSS) in the pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4600/- for Central Govt. Ministries/ Departments
- Assistants in other Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ CVC etc. other than CSS cadre in the pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4200/-
- Inspector of Posts (Group B Non-Gazetted) in pay scales of Rs. Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4200/-
- Sub-Inspectors in CBI in the pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4200/-
- Assistant Enforcement Officers in Directorate of Enforcement in the pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4600/-

Note:Preference for Posts, is to be indicated in the application. Candidates are requested to note that preference for Posts once exercised will be final. Request for change of preference will not be considered under any circumstance. For the post of Assistant in CSS, candidate shall have not more than three attempts unless covered by any of the exceptions notified by Government of India.

Qualification: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS as on 1st August,2012.
i) Compiler : Bachelor‟s Degree with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject from any recognized University.
ii) Statistical Investigator Grade – II Bachelor‟s Degree with Statistics as one of the main subjects.

Bachelor‟s Degree with Mathematics( with Statistics as a papers studied in one year/two years/all three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.
OR
Bachelor‟s Degree with Economics ( with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.

Bachelor‟s Degree with Commerce (with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.
iii) All other Posts: Bachelor‟s Degree (Graduation Degree) from a recognized University or equivalent. .
Note I: For posts of Assistants(CSS), computer proficiency has also been prescribed as an Essential Qualification.

Fee: Rs. 100/-. No fee for SC/ST/PH/Women and Ex-Serviceman. Fee will be paid only in the form of "Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)" These stamps are available at the counter of all Departmental Post Offices of the country. For the candidates who are applying online, should pay in the branches of SBI through payment challans which can be printed online.
