Applications are invited by Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Noida for full time undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the commencing session 2012-2014. Courses will be offered in various campuses of FDDI which include Noida, Rai Bareilly, Chennai, Rohtak, Chhindwara, Kolkata and Jodhpur.
Candidates are required to give 4 choices in the application form in order of their preference for examination centre from the above mentioned list. FDDI would allot exam centre as per availability. No request for change of date and exam centre would be entertained. The allotment of centre of examination and date will be given on first come first serve basis. While deciding centre and date of examination choice filled up in the form will be given preference. FDDI reserves right to add or cancel the exam centers listed above.
Exemption
Candidates who have attempted CAT/MAT test are eligible for exemption from appearing in the written test of FDDI. However score secured by them in CAT/MAT shall be considered as per the following criteria -

Eligible candidates will have to undergo an All India Selection Test (AIST) that consists of a Written Examination, Group Discussion / Design Aptitude Test & Personal Interview. Written examination will be conducted on 10th, 11th and 12th June 2011 in multiple sessions. Candidates may have option to choose the date according to their convenience. Written examination will be conducted in the following cities all over India:

Admit card bearing the address of exam centre and date of exam for written examination will be sent to the candidates in the fourth week of 27th May 2011. Candidates not receiving the admit card by 06th June 2011 may get in touch with the Training Cell, FDDI for obtaining the duplicate copy of the admit card. The written test and group discussion are conducted in English medium only.
An all India merit list will be prepared on the basis of the result of written examination and the short listed candidates will be called for Group Discussion, Design Aptitude Test and Personal Interview, which will be held at FDDI, Noida in the month of June 2011.
NOTE:
Candidates appearing in final year exam would be provisionally allowed to appear in the written test, GD and interview. However, such candidates are required to submit mark sheet of final year at the time of admission. In case candidates fail in the final year exams his/her admission would be cancelled.
All results will be published in FDDI website, www.fddiindia.com.
A candidate who is allotted a seat will be required to pay an amount of Rs. 25000/- immediately on the spot at the time of counseling /admission to reserve the seat. The amount submitted shall not be refunded in case of withdrawal of admission. The candidates will be given seven working days to deposit the balance fee.RESERVATION FOR SC/ST & PH CANDIDATES
Institute reserves 15% seats for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates respectively in each programme in both sponsored as well as non-sponsored category. 3% seats are reserved for physically handicapped students in each programme as per the persons with Disability Act 1995. Such candidates should submit the disability certificate issued by medical board notified by State/Central authority certifying their disability as 40% or more.

- For CAT / MAT: The CAT / MAT percentile will be equated at par with FDDI percentile. Marks corresponding to the nearest percentile of the candidate who has appeared in the FDDI written test will be allotted and the candidate having CAT / MAT percentile will be positioned just below such candidate. For example the candidate having 92.84 percentile in MAT will be equated to the nearest percentile of candidate appeared in FDDI written test, which is say 92.75 and the marks corresponding to the percentile is 160/300 in the case the CAT student with 92.84 percentile will also be allotted 160 marks. However, in case of CAT student who have also appear in FDDI written examination, the best of the two marks as per the above methods shall be allotted. Similar formula will be applied in the case of MAT candidates as well.
- The Score of CAT / MAT prior to Sep 2010 examination shall not be considered.
- Candidates will also have option to appear for FDDI written test. In that case the best of the two exam i.e. MAT / CAT or FDDI written examination will be considered for the merit of selection as per the methods stated above.

Candidates are required to fill the application form attached with the prospectus as per the instruction mentioned here and send the duly fill form alongwith the requisite documents to FDDI, Noida. Duly filled application form along with requisite documents should be sent to Training Cell, FDDI. One can apply for more than one programme in a single form. For applying in multiple programmes candidates have to fill the programme code in accordance to their preference of programme as given in the application form..

WRITTEN TEST STRUCTURE FDDI entrance test will be of 2.5 hrs (Two and half hours) duration and would be conducted in English language. There would be a total of 150 objective type questions. Multiple choices for these questions will be available and candidates are required to choose the right answer. Written Test would comprise the following sections: For Post Graduate Programmes

Each question would carry 1 mark. There is no negative marking. The questions in the test paper will be selected from a Question Data bank. The time allotted for the test will be shown on the screen as Time Left to finish the test. The time will start to tick as soon as the candidates click the “Start Test” button. On completion of the test, the candidates can exit by pressing the “Submit” button. The candidates should attempt the entire questions within the stipulated test duration of 2.5 hours to avoid being “timed out”. The Test Centre Administrators would be available at the test centre to provide all the necessary assistance. The tests would be invigilated to ensure that spirit of the exam is maintained. The candidates found indulging in the malpractice of any nature would be disqualified and would be instructed to leave the test premises immediately. The candidates would not be allowed to bring mobile phones, pagers, calculators, PDA, Listening devices and recording or photographic devices of any nature in the examination hall.
