The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala, has invited applications for an entrance test for admission to the following postgraduate super specialty courses conducted at the Government medical colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Thrissur, and Kozhikode.
M.Ch. speciality: paediatric surgery (total seats: 10), plastic surgery (total seats: 5), genito urinary surgery (13); thoracic surgery (6), nuero surgery (10), and gastroenterology surgery (1).
DM speciality: cardiology (18), gastroenterology (10), neurology (7), nephrology (6). Duration of these courses will be three years.
Eligibility: Applicant should be an Indian citizen of Kerala origin and should have passed MBBS/PG (MD/ MS)/ Dip.NB from any of the medical colleges in Kerala. Candidates who have appeared or are appearing for the MD/MS examination can also apply.
Candidates should have registered their MBBS and postgraduate degree with the State Medical Council. The upper age-limit for general merit candidates will be 45 years. For persons in health service, the upper age-limit 47 years. All candidates including service quota candidates will have to qualify the entrance examination by securing at least 50 per cent marks. The entrance examination will consists of two papers, each of one-and-half hour duration and containing 90 objective-type multiple-choice questions. Appearance in both papers is compulsory for admission to the super specialty course.
