The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has invited applications for national level test to be held on July 17 at Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Varanasai, Guwahati, Kolkata for the award of ICMR- Junior Research Fellowships. The test will be conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in collaboration with PGIMER. A total of 150 fellowships will be awarded based on the score obtained in the test. Majority of the fellowships (120 nos.) are available for life sciences stream viz. microbiology, molecular biology, human biology, physiology, genetics, biotechnology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, biophysics, immunology, botany, zoology, pharmacology, environmental sciences, veterinary sciences. Thirty fellowships are available in social sciences stream including psychology, sociology , home science, social work and health economics, statistics, anthropology.
Eligibility: MA/ M.Sc. degree holders in the relevant subjects with minimum 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for SC/ ST and physically challenged applicants) are eligible to apply. Upper age-limit is 28 years as on September 30, relaxable up to five year, for SC/ ST / PH and female applicants and three years for OBC applicants.

Application form, information bulletin and other details can be downloaded from the web site http://pgimer.nic.in or www.icmr.nic.in. Duly filled in application as per instructions given in the information bulletin along with relevant documents and the requisite fee by demand draft in favour of Director PGIMER, Chandigarh, should be sent by registered post to the Registrar, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigrah- 160012, Punjab, so as to reach the addressee on or before May 17.
