Vishwakarma Maritime Institute(MERCHANT NAVY)


Admission
Graduate Marine Engineering – GME (1 year)

Qualification : Graduate in Mechanical Engineering / Naval Architects from AICTE approved institutes.
Marks : Min. 50% marks in aggregate AND min. 50% marks in English subject in X or XII std.
Age : Not more than 28 years of age as on the date of commencement of course
Medical Fitness : Candidates should be medically fit and without color blindness. Eyesight should be at least 6/12 in each eye without visual aids.



Diploma in Nautical Science – DNS (Proposed)

Qualification : Pass in 10+2 examination with not less than 55% aggregate marks in PCM. OR

With Physics as an individual subject in any one of the years of B.Sc., with not less than 50% marks in the final year of B.Sc. OR

B.E./B. Tech. or it’s equivalent degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE/UGC.
Marks : Min. 50% marks in English subject in X or XII std.
Age : Not more than 25 years. The age limit is relaxable by 2 years in case of female candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Medical Fitness : Medically Fit
Eye-sight: 6/6 in each eye without visual aids & Normal colour vision.
Admission Procedure : 1. It is mandatory for all the candidates to qualify in the Common Entrance Test conducted by IMU – Indian Maritime University.
2. The eligible candidates in all respects i.e. educational qualifications, age, physical and medical standards, eye-sight is advised to apply for the Common Entrance Test conducted by IMU. The admission for this programme is offered twice a year, i.e. in January/February and July/August.
3. Candidates who qualify in the Common Entrance Test conducted by IMU will be selected on the basis of Psychometric test / Written test / Interviews conducted by the institute.
