JOINT ENTRANCE TEST - AGRIBUSINESS MANAGEMENT (JET-ABM) - 2011

About JET-ABM

The three apex level institutions under the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India viz., i) National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, ii) Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CCS-NIAM), Jaipur and iii) National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad are running two year Post Graduate Diploma Programmes in Agri-Business Management approved by AICTE. These three institutions have collaborated to conduct a Joint Entrance Test - Agri-Business Management, 2011 (JET-ABM, 2011) for selection of candidates in their respective programmes. Through JET-ABM these institutions intend to build a brand for the increasingly important area of agri-business management. The JETABM provides a most convenient option to the aspiring students to appear for single entrance examination for agri-business management programmes. All applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria will have to appear for the JET-ABM, 2011 at centres designated for this purpose.

Registering for JET-ABM
1. On-line registration on JET-ABM website (preferred process)
or

2.Download of application from the web sites of any one of the web sites of the three participating institutions and posting the completed application
or

3.Request for application form and prospectus by post and posting the completed application.

JET-ABM Test Procedure

The JET-ABM, 2011 would include the questions in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of Agriculture will have 40 questions covering the following areas;
General Agriculture
Agricultural Engineering
Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
Fisheries
Food Sciences
Forestry
Horticulture

2. Quantitative Aptitude will have 40 questions covering the subjects like statistics and data interpretation

3. Logical Ability will have 40 questions covering the subjects like reasoning, extrapolation, deduction etc.

4. Proficiency in English will have 40 questions covering the subjects like reading comprehension, paraphrasing, sentence correction / completion, synonyms and antonyms etc.

5. General Awareness will have 20 questions from the areas of current affairs, general knowledge and elementary aspects of agri-business.


Examination Date of JET-ABM, 2011: 27-March-2011

Duration of JET-ABM, 2011 will be of 2 hours with a total of 180 questions.


Eligibility

The minimum qualification for admission into the programmes is a FOUR YEAR Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following subjects from any Agricultural University or Institution recognized by the ICAR/UGC:

Agriculture
Agri-Business Management/Commercial Agriculture and Agri-Business Management/ Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation
Agricultural Engineering
Agricultural Information Technology
Bioinformatics
Biotechnology
Dairy Technology
Energy and Environmental Engineering
Fisheries
Food Technology/Food Process Engineering
Forestry
Horticulture
Sericulture
Veterinary Science

Minimum Percentage: 50 percent or its equivalent OGPA

The students who are going to complete their degree by July, 2011 are also eligible to apply.

Total Number of Seats: 30 (Thirty)

The reservation of seats will be available for OBC, SC, ST and Physically Handicapped category as per Govt. of India rules.

The right answer will be given one mark and wrong answer will be awarded -1/3 mark.
