General Information
(a) The JAM 2011 is open to all nationals (Indian/Foreign). Candidates seeking admission to academic programmes covered under JAM 2011 need to appear in JAM 2011. There is no age restriction.
(b) For admission, foreign nationals will be required to satisfy the rules and regulations of the admitting Institute(s) pertaining to foreign students. For further details, they are advised to contact the Admitting Institute(s) concerned.
(c) To apply for admission to a desired programme, a candidate is required to qualify in the corresponding test paper and also satisfy the minimum educational qualifications and eligibility criteria of the respective academic programme.
(d) The candidates who have either appeared or are due to appear in the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2011 are also eligible to appear in the test. By qualifying in JAM 2011, candidates can apply for provisional admission subject to the condition that: (i) all parts of their final examination shall be completed by the date of registration of the Admitting Institute, and (ii) proof of having passed the qualifying degree with required eligibility, as specified by the admitting institute will be submitted by 30th September 2011.
Eligibility Requirements
The candidates who qualify in JAM 2011 shall have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria for admissions in IITs.
At least 55% aggregatemarks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC, ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree.
For candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s).
Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the minimum educational qualification as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by 30th September 2011.
At the time of admission, all admitted candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form. At the time of registration, the admitted candidates may also have to undergo a physical fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Admitting Institute. In case a candidate is not found to be physically fit to pursue his/her chosen course of study, his/her admission is liable to be cancelled.

How To Apply
Candidates can submit Application Form in two different modes : Online and Offline. The preferred mode of application process is Online.
Offline Application Process

OBC candidates NEED NOT SEND any certificate with the application form. It will be required only at the time of applying for admission
Step 3: Fill in the Application Form
Candidates must follow the instructions provided in JAM 2011 information brochure.
Step 4:
Paste your recent photograph (3 cm X 4 cm) in the designated place of OMR sheet.
Sign at the designated places of OMR sheet.
Write the test city first choice code, paper code and your address on the envelope.
Step 5: Post/Submission
Duly filled-in Application Form with appropriate enclosures must be sent by Speed Post (preferably) or by Registered Post to The Organizing Chairman, JAM 2011, IIT Roorkee, Roorkee-247 667 so as to reach there on or before 31st January , 2011
OR
It can be handed over personally to JAM Office, IIT Roorkee.

Payment through Demand Draft only.
Demand draft of appropriate amount should be drawn in favour of “Chairman, JAM 2011, IIT Roorkee”, on any bank, payable at Roorkee.
Step 2: Obtain SC/ST/PD Certificate (if applicable)
Authorities empowered to issue Certificates SC/ST
OBC candidates NEED NOT SEND any certificate with the application form. It will be required only at the time of applying for admission.
Step 3: Apply Online
Candidates must follow all instructions strictly while applying online.
At the end of this process, a PDF file will be generated with the following pages:

Take a print out of the entire file.
Step 4:
