CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET)

Applications are invited for the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship to be conducted on June 17 by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and the University Grants Commission for science subjects.
A candidate may apply for lectureship only or for both. Two merit lists will be prepared when the results are announced.
Those with an M.Sc. degree with minimum 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes, the physically and visually challenged, and those with a Ph.D. degree who have passed the Master's course prior to September 19, 1991) are eligible to apply.
Those who have appeared, or are appearing, for their final M.Sc. examinations during 2011-12 are also eligible to apply for the test.

The upper age limit for JRF is 28 as on January 1, 2012, relaxed up to five years for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Castes, the physically and visually challenged, and women.

Applications can be submitted online up to March 21 on the website.
Offline application forms and information bulletins can be had from selected branches of Indian Bank up to March 20 on payment of Rs.400 (Rs.200 for reserved sections).

The filled-in application forms or printouts of online applications, along with documents, should be sent under certificate of posting or by ordinary post to the Senior Controller of Examinations, Examination Unit, Human Resource Development Group, CSIR Complex, Pusa, New Delhi - 110 012, so as to reach the official on or before March 26.
