LNMIIT Admission 2011

Selection Process for LNMIIT 2011:

Students appearing in either AIEEE 2011 or the Joint Entrance Exam 2011 conducted by the IITs (IIT-JEE) are eligible to apply for admission to LNMIIT in 2011. The LNMIIT will consider the AIEEE All India Rank and/or the performance in IIT-JEE, to make the admission decision.

Boys within top 10 ranks and girls within top 20 ranks in senior secondary exam of 12th class conducted by Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, in the year 2011, are eligible for direct admission. Only those students who have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English in 12th class will be considered for admission through this route.

There is NO management quota, NRI quota, or any other quota. There is no other channel of admission to The LNMIIT.

                 SET Test for Symbiosis Undergraduate Programmes


Symbiosis Entrance Test Overview

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a common written test for the admission processes of undergraduate institutes of Symbiosis International University established as under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 vide notification No.F.9.12/2001 U.3 of the Govt. of India. In the year 2002 there were 3 constituent institutes, subsequently ten more Institutes of Symbiosis have been brought under the ambit of Symbiosis International University vide notification No.F.9.12/2006-U.3 (A).

It is a mandatory written test for the admission process for the undergraduate programmes of the following Symbiosis institutes. However SET is not mandatory for the Symbiosis instititute of Technology (SIT) and Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS).

SET is only the first step. Each Symbiosis institute has its independent selection process.

SET-2011 has 5 different papers namely General, Design, Law, Engineering and Health Sciences.
The test will be conducted in two sessions, Morning and Afternoon.
A Candidate may take more than one paper. However he may choose one paper from morning session and one paper from afternoon session.

A candidate aspiring to pursue an undergraduate programme at Symbiosis needs to follow the 3 stages mentioned below:

Stage-1: SET Test
Register online at www.set-test.org
You may register for one paper in the morning viz. Law or Engineering or Health Sciences and one paper in the afternoon session viz. General or Design.

For Engineering and Health Sciences, if a candidate wishes to offer scores other than SET, he/she need not register for SET and apply directly to the concerned institute.

You need to upload a scanned photograph of yours at the time of registration.
Follow the instructions for payment of Test fee of Rs. 1500/- on the SET website. This includes charges for a prospectus of the Undergraduate Programmes at Symbiosis International University.
Candidates applying to Symbiosis Institute of Technology must register at SET even if they offer JEE or AIEEE scores. They need to pay the prospectus fee of Rs. 500/-
Print "Admit Card" directly from the SET website from 26 April 2011 to May 7 2011.
Bring the Admit Card and a Photo Identity to the Test Center. It will be authenticated during the Test.
(Candidates shall preserve the authenticated Admit Card till the Admission processes of the desired Symbiosis Institutes are over. If the Admit card is lost, no duplicate Admit Card will be issued.)
Appear for the Test.

Stage-2: Apply online to the desired SIU's constituent institutes.
The SET website ( www.set-test.org ) allows a facility to directly apply online to an institute.
Candidates may also apply from the institute/s website.
To apply to an institute, a candidate must register for the relevant SET paper. For example, to apply to Symbiosis Law School, register for Law paper at SET.
Candidates applying to Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) or Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) with other than SET-2011 score should refer to the institute websites and apply.


Stage-3: Attend further selection process of the chosen institutes, if called.
Each institute has its own cutoff, as mentioned in the prospectus.
The institutes will announce a short list for attending further selection process.
The individual institute as per their schedules will announce short List & Waiting Lists.

Important:
The SET Score card will be available on the website for a period of one month from the date of declaration of results i.e. from May 20, 2011 to June 20, 2011.
Those candidates paying through cash or DD, should ensure that,
1. Bank Challan for cash payment, OR
2. Demand Draft along with Payment Advice Form for DD payment reaches Symbiosis Test Secretariat by 23rd April 2011.

Foreign National (FN):

Non Resident Indian (NRI):

Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference. The on-line application has to be invariably followed-up with a `No Objection Certificate' from the employer concerned, by those already in employment under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies, duly indicating the name and Reg. No. on the reverse.

Selection Process:
The candidate should have First Class with minimum 65% marks in the Qualifying Degree ie, BE/B.Tech or equivalent. Please note that this qualification prescribed is the MINIMUM requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for written test. Based on the academic performance and bio-data, initial screening will be conducted to short-list candidates for taking-up written test. The written test will be conducted on 16th April 2011 [Saturday] at thirteen venues viz., Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. However, the Organisation reserves the right to cancel/change the written test venue and re-allot the candidates to any other test centre. The call letters for the written test to the short-listed candidates will be sent only by e-mail during the last week of March 2011. Based on the performance of the candidates in the Written Test, candidates will be short-listed for interview, the schedule and venue of which will be notified. Candidates attending the interview will be reimbursed to and fro second-class train fare by the shortest route from the address given in the application to the place of interview.

Pay and Allowances:
Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/ Engineer 'SC' in the pay band of Rs. 15600-39100 + 5400 (Grade Pay). The gross emoluments in the minimum of scale will at present be approximately Rs.30,450/- p.m. In addition, House Rent Allowance [HRA] and Transport Allowance at the prescribed rates in force at the place of posting will be paid for those who are not availing Departmental Housing and Transport facility, respectively. The employees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme. On employment in ISRO, other facilities are available such as medical facilities for self and dependants, subsidized canteen, transport allowance when official transport is not availed, limited housing facility for fresh entrants in lieu of HRA, Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance , advances for purchase of conveyance, construction of house, etc as per Central Government orders.

Other Conditions/Instructions:
The posts are temporary, but likely to continue.

However, such students need not study separately for the University MBA, since the PGPM is an integrated course, where, the syllabus of the University MBA is integrated into and forms a subset of PGPM curriculum, which is much more comprehensive.

The aim of the scholarship is to nurture, encourage and support two outstanding female students. Each awardee receives a tuition fee exemption of Rs.2,00,000 per year. Extension is subject to fulfillment of performance requirements in the first-year courses.

Savitri Jindal Graduate Assistantships
Savitri Jindal Merit-cum-Means Graduate Assistantships worth INR 1 Lakh, renewable annually, provided to all students. The Assistantships are offered in exchange for four hours of weekly work to students, based on their areas of interest. Recipients can either partake in research centre activities or help in certain administrative affairs of the B-School. Care is taken to ensure that Assistantship work does not significantly divert effort from academic pursuits.

In addition to the above-mentioned scholarships, JGBS grants up to full tuition fee concession to Haryana State domiciled candidates as per the regulations applicable to Universities across the State.

AIEEE/AFMC Entrance Examination Time Re-Sheduled


AIEEE and AFMC MBBS exams being scheduled on the same date, May 1, across the country, have now given respite to those students appearing for both by rescheduling the time slots. Now both the exams will be conducted at separate timings on May 1,2011.

While the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, the AFMC entrance test is conducted by the Armed Forces Medical Services.

According to a CBSE statement, both have agreed that the AIEEE 2011 would be conducted on May 1 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and AFMC 2011MBBS exam from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. If a candidate is allotted an examination centre for the AIEEE and the AFMC exam at different cities, the CBSE will consider changing the centre, the statement said. However, this would be at the sole discretion of the CBSE, the statement added.

Admission Process

IEMR follows a rolling admission process whereby applicants are invited for Personality Assessment in multiple rounds. Each application will be scrutinized by the Admissions Committee on a continuous basis and shortlisted applicants will be called for Personality Assessment in the city of choice indicated by them in the application form within two weeks of receiving the application. The final result will be intimated to the applicant within a week of the Personality Assessment. Shortlisting of applications for Personality Assessment and final offer of admission will be at the sole discretion of the Institute.

Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in any discipline from a recognized university are eligible for admission. Final year candidates may also apply, under the condition that they provide documented evidence of having fulfilled the eligibility criteria by October 1, 2011.

Aptitude Test Scores

IEMR selection process will consider the scores of the Common Admission Test (CAT), Xaviers' Admission Test (XAT) and Management Aptitude Test (MAT) taken any time after November 2009. Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) scores taken any time since May 2008 will also be considered for the selection process. Applicants who have not appeared in any of the above tests would be required to take IEMR Management Aptitude Test.


Candidates will be required to intimate their scores in the Admission Form and furnish original and duplicate copies later in the selection process. Neither the IIMs nor any affiliated organizations have any role in selections for IEMR.

Personality Assessment

IEMR will conduct Personality Assessment for the shortlisted candidates at assessment centres in major cities across India. The details for the same will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates upon evaluation by the admissions committee.

Offer of Admission

The final selection will be based on a weighted score of the candidate's test scores, educational background, professional experience and personality assessment. Successful candidates will have to convey their acceptance of the offer and need to deposit the admission fees of Rs. 80,000 within seven working days of intimation of admission offer, failing which the offer will be cancelled. The Admission Fee will be adjusted against the First Trimester Tuition Fees.

IEMR students can avail of loans from multiple lenders at competitive rates. Selected students can contact the Admissions Office for assistance after receiving the offer of admission.

Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test ( EAMCET 2011 ) is an entrance examination for admission in a number of professional courses like engineering, medical, pharmacy, biotechnology, veterinary etc in private/government colleges in Andhra Pradesh. National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are premier technical institutions of national repute, fully funded by Government of India. The Curricula and Syllabi of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme offered by NITs are designed considering the need of different IT Firms in India and abroad which has a high job potential in IT Sector. NIMCET is a national level entrance test conducted by NITs for admission to their MCA programme. Each correctly answered question will carry FOUR marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to NEGATIVE ONE mark. The candidates have to mark the responses in the OMR sheets at the time of examination. Candidates have to bring their own HB pencil, eraser and black ball point pen. Calculators, mobile phones or any other electronic gadget are not allowed in the examination hall.

This programme is sponsored by the University Grant Commission, Govt. of India.The selected student is expected to work for a minimum duration of six weeks and programme could extend up to about twelve weeks depending on the individual progress and circumstances.The trainees are expected to avail the internship preferably during May-July 2011 and specific requests for any changes to suit academic calenders would be considered on case by case basis.

Eligibility and Selection criteria
Undergraduate Students in second or third year B.E./B.Tech(Civil Engineering) are eligible to apply.
Selection will be based on the scholastic record of the student in 10th and 12th classes, percentage (or TGPA) obtained so far in B.E./ B.Tech and a brief research proposal.

Stipend, Travel and Accommodation

Stipend of Rs.3000 per month on prorata basis and a contingency up to Rs.1000 for academic expenses will be paid to selected students after successful completion of assigned work. No travel and daily allowances are admissible in this program. Presently we are not in a position to arrange for accommodation for the trainees.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants possessing a minimum of second class in the following are eligible to apply:

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in an appropriate field of Engineering/Technology/Architecture/ Medicine/ Agriculture/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary Sciences; or Master’s degree in Science in an appropriate field including Biotechnology, or Master’s in Economics, Geography, Social Work, Psychology, Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science/ Application as applicable to the respective departments.

Qualifying in one of the following appropriate Tests (with validity as on 1st of August 2011) is mandatory for the candidates applying for Ph D in Science Faculty and M Sc(Engg): CSIR-UGC NET for JRF; or UGC-NET for JRF; or DBT JRF; or ICMR JRF; or JEST 2011; or NBHM 2011; or IISc Entrance Test 2011; or GATE 2010/2011. Qualifying in these tests is not mandatory but desirable for candidates who possess a Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology/ M Sc(Engg)/MS or MBA(post BE/B Tech) wish to apply for the departments in the Engineering Faculty.


IISc Entrance Test is conducted in Atmospheric Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Ecological Sciences, Mathematics, Management Studies, and Materials Science subjects.

Candidates with BE / B Tech or equivalent degree who may not have qualified in any of the above mentioned National Entrance Tests but possess an excellent academic record right from 10th Standard onwards may be considered for admission to a limited number of seats in Ph D programme in Engineering Faculty. The short listing for interview of such candidates will be based on their academic performance in 10th , 12th and the qualifying degree at the current stage.


(ii) COURSE PROGRAMMES [ME/ M Tech/M Des/M.Mgt]

(a) Master of Engineering (ME) in Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Microelectronics, Signal Processing, Systems Science & Automation, and Telecommunication Engineering.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants possessing a minimum of second class in Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of Engineering/ Technology or equivalent degree with valid GATE score are eligible to apply.

Selection is based on valid GATE score only.

(b) Master of Technology (M Tech) in Electronics Design & Technology(ED), Computational Science (CP), Climate Science(CL), Transportation & Infrastructure Engineering(TI) and Instrumentation(IN).

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants possessing a minimum of second class in the following qualifying degree with valid GATE score are eligible to apply:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of Engineering/Technology; or Master’s degree in Science, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Instrumentation, Electronics or Master’s in Computer Application as applicable to the respective departments.

Selection for (ED), (CP) , (CL) and (CL) is based on an aptitude test and interview subsequent to short-listing based on valid GATE score and for (IN) based on valid GATE score only.

(c) Master of Design (M Des) in Product Design & Engineering


ELIGIBILITY

Applicants possessing a minimum of second class in Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Design / Architecture with valid GATE/CEED scores are eligible to apply.

Selection is based on a Design Aptitude Test and interview subsequent to short-listing based on valid GATE / CEED scores.

(d) Master of Management (M.Mgt)

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants possessing a minimum of first class in Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent degree with valid GATE/JMET scores are eligible to apply.

Selection is based on a group discussion and interview subsequent to short-listing based on valid GATE / JMET scores.


(iii) INTEGRATED Ph D PROGRAMMES

in (1) Biological Sciences(BS), (2) Chemical Sciences(CS), (3) Physical Sciences (PS) and (4) Mathematical Sciences(MS)

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants possessing a minimum of first class in Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, (including Pharmaceutical, Veterinary Sciences and Agricultural Sciences), Mathematical Sciences, or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology as applicable to respective disciplines.

All the candidates should ualify in IISc Entrance Test scheduled for 24th April 2011. The short-listing of candidates for interview is based on performance in the IISc Entrance Test.


(iv) EXTERNAL REGISTRATION PROGRAMMES (Ph D only)

It is a Research programme for working professionals from (1) R&D Organizations/Industries and (2) for Faculty members from Engineering, Agricultural, Pharmaceutical, Veterinary, Medical Colleges/ Universities, recognized by the appropriate government agencies. The candidates must be officially sponsored by their employing organization.

Ph D in Science: All the Science departments as indicated in (i) except High Energy Physics and Solid State & Structural Chemistry.

Ph D in Engineering: All the Engineering departments as indicated in (i).

ELIGIBILITY

• Qualifications remain the same as for the regular candidates. Further, the candidates should have two years of continuous service in a permanent position in the present organisation • Age: NOT higher than 40 years as on 01.04.2011.

Desirable: Qualifying in one of the tests;IISc Entrance Test,CSIR-UGC NET for JRF,UGC-NET for JRF, DBT JRF,ICMR JRF, GATE, NBHM, etc.

Selection will be based on candidate’s performance in the interview to be conducted at IISc.

(v) Reservation for OBC/SC/ST/Physically-Handicapped(PH) and Kashmiri-Migrant(KM) candidates: As per the Government of India regulations. Grade/Class of qualifying examination is relaxed to a “pass class” for SC/ST candidates.



(vi) Scholarships: All the regular students who join the Institute are eligible for IISc scholarship / fellowship from CSIR/ UGC/ ICMR/ MHRD/ AICTE/ NBHM/ as the case may be. Scholarships from many Indian and multinational agencies and business houses are also available for meritorious students.

(vii) HOW TO APPLY

(a) Application Forms for Research, Course and Integrated Ph D programmes

may be obtained by any of the following three methods:

(1) Against a cash payment of Rs.700/- from select CANARA BANK Branches$ .

(2) By sending a written request for application form with 2 address slips (stickers), and a demand draft (Rs.700/- for general/OBC categories, Rs.350/- for SC/ST/PH categories, along with copy of an appropriate certificate) to the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560 012. The DD must be drawn in favour of “Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore”.

(3) Online application – Online submission of application may be made by accessing the IISc website www.iisc.ernet.in/admissions w.e.f. 07.02.2011. Online application fee is Rs.600/- for general/OBC categories and Rs.300/- for SC/ST/PH categories. A printed copy of the online application should also be posted as detailed below.

For External Registration Programmes - Candidates should write to the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, IISc, Bangalore - 560 012, enclosing a DD for Rs.1500/- drawn in favour of “Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore”.

(b) Submission of Application Forms.

Filled-in off-line application forms/ print out of the online application forms should reach the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, IISc, Bangalore-560012 on or before 21.03.2011.

Separate application form should be used for each programme viz Research or Course or Integrated Ph D. Only one application form will be considered for each programme.

If you are applying for admission to IISc

Thank you for your interest in pursuing a Ph.D. or M.Sc.(Engg) degree programme at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). IISc is happy to announce that fellowships will be awarded to the most promising students who are selected for admission to one of these programmes. Further details are given below.

Basic eligibility criteria

Only those who are NOT citizens of India are eligible to apply for admission through this mechanism. Indian citizens i.e. those holding an Indian passport (whether residing in India or abroad) need to apply through the the regular admission process.

Foreign students are eligible to apply only for a Ph.D. programme or an M.Sc.(Engg) programme. They are NOT eligible to apply for an integrated Ph.D. programme, ME/MTech programme, the proposed undergraduate programme etc.

Eligibility Criteria for Individual Programmes
For Ph.D. programme: A Masters degree or a four-year undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline. Departments offering a Ph.D. programme and their respective eligibility criteria are listed in this page.

For M.Sc.(Engineering) programme: A four-year undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline. Departments offering a M.Sc.(Engg.) programme and their respective eligibility criteria are listed in this page.

Application Processing
After ensuring completeness of your application form, International Relations Cell (IRC) will forward it to the appropriate Departments/Centres.

If a Department shortlists you, a Departmental Committee will interview you using the web or the telephone.

If you are selected for a programme at the IISc, IRC will mail admission offer letters by end of April, 2011.

You are required to join the Institute by August 1, 2011 after completing all the necessary formalities.

Financial Support
If you are selected, you will be offered hostel accommodation and a fellowship by IISc. The fellowship amount will be equal to that offered to Indian students. This fellowship is usually adequate to pay tuition fees, hostel and mess fees and cover your living expenses.

ABOUT 
National Institute of Siddha (NIS) is located alongside Grand South Trunk Road (GST road) at Tambaram Sanatorium in Chennai. It is at a distance of about 6 km from Chennai Airport, about 24 km from Chennai Central Railway Station, just 2 km from Tambaram Railway Station and about 100 Meters from Tambaram Sanatorium Railway Station.
